Socioeconomic Forum of the Mimi: A human tide invaded Abdjerté in Wadi Fira

This area once served as a market place in the locality of Abdjerté, 20 kilometers from the town of Biltine, capital of the province of Waddi Fira.

Three years of preparation, the Mimi held their very first forum for the socio-economic and cultural development of the community.

For the past three days, several delegations from deep Chad have entered Abdjerté in response to the invitation to this forum.

The choice of this symbolic place of Mimi, which is the famous Ouaddi, known under the name of Waddi Fira, name also given to the said province.

Sultans, chiefs of Cantons and other traditional and customary chiefs accompanied by their respective communities were welcomed by the committee, under the admiring glance of the sons of the locality.

The members of the organizing committee made a point of welcoming each community in turn with honors. In their favor, parades in a good-natured atmosphere until their installation in the various camps.

From Dagaga to Birak, from Abéché to Haraz Djombo, from Wadden to Kanem, from N'djamena Oum Hadjer and guests from other localities inside and outside of Chad camp under the trees, among traditional dances, shouts of joy and youyous, the Mimi community seems to start this first Forum well.

Each camp was organized to dance steps and other traditional choreographies to mark the event. All the delegations are present this evening, they will spend the night here in Abdjerté in order to honor with their presence the very first forum for the socioeconomic and cultural development of dar Mimi.
